Welcome to the Farmville Detention Center (FDC) Information Portal. The FDC is accredited by the American Correctional Association (ACA) and the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC). The FDC is committed to excellence throughout our organization and strives to provide a positive, safe and professional environment for our staff and detainees.

Mission Statement:

It is the mission of the Farmville Detention Center to provide a safe, humane, and appropriately secure civil detention environment that offers an appealing alternative to the standard method of detention for federal immigrants while they navigate the immigration process


The Farmville Detention Center and its operating philosophy is considered the role model and trendsetter for providing safe, humane, and secure conditions in civil detention service in America. This vision will be realized when:

  • The FDC provides as free and pleasant an environment as possible for civil detention while effectively managing safety and security concerns.
  • The FDC ensures the physical safety and security of all detainees through effective facility management and oversight and an environment free from fear, intimidation, and harassment.

Center Hours:

FDC’s visitation hours are from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M., seven days a week. Special requests for visitation may be accommodated on a case by case basis with a minimum of 24 hours advance notice. Please see the Visitation page for more information.

If you need information about a detainee that is housed at this facility, you may call (434) 395-8114, Extension 1000, 24 hours a day. Please see the Contact Us page for more information.

Immigration Case Information:

The FDC staff do not have any information about the status of a particular detainee’s immigration case. The FDC staff will not have information about eligibility for bonds, release, or transfers. All requests for information relating to a detainee’s immigration case must be directed to ICE. Please see the Procedures page for more information.


The FDC does not accept luggage for detainees that are being removed from the country. Luggage must be dropped off at an ICE office for detainees being removed. Please see the Procedures page for more information.

Lobby Kiosk: Detainee accounts - Deposits Credit Cards or Cash:

The FDC now has a lobby kiosk available for family and friends to deposit money on a detainee’s account. The kiosk accepts credit cards or cash and the funds are available instantly for the detainee. Funds can also be deposited on a detainee’s account via the web. Go to the following address: www.accesscorrections.com and follow instructions for setting up an account. The FDC will continue to accept MONEY ORDERS that contain the detainee's full name and A (Alien) Number.

Parking is open, but is on a first come, first serve basis.  No parking is allowed on the roadway leading to the facility. Designated handicap parking is available in the main facility parking lot for those vehicles that have properly registered handicap license plates or placards. Violators may be subject to towing at the owner’s expense. Please see the Visitation page for more information.
